[that is a good question, and he would grace it with a dignified response, but his attention's elsewhere. like, in jack's tone. he would ask why not, but he already understands; if rufus comes from the same time that jack does, of course there's a reason that jack - who pretends to like everyone - would tell him immediately that he doesn't like someone.
